“Karen Express” is a second generation store of a 32-year-old brand, Karen Teppanyaki. It wants to create its corporate image with an innovative and lively concept, so red is employed to preserve the heat of teppanyaki and people’s first impression on Karen Express, while black is adopted to bring out a sense of shrewdness and modern youth. By using the innovative and lively brand image as the concept for the overall main axis, red and black are adopted with geometric cutting to form the entire design image of the store front from a plane to a facade.
The overall space design uses large areas of geometric cutting. Such rebellious and bold design corresponds to the innovative purpose of the second generation store. An irregular 3D design is even adopted for the façade, highlighting and powerfully strengthening the store’s lively image. Traditional seal script are transformed and integrated to form the main framework of the logo for expressing that the brand has inherited the traditions of the old brand and that integration is achieved by adding innovations of the younger generation.
